Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 10/27/19

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
   (Psalm 18:1-2)

Oh, what a Savior! Our Lord is everything, everything we need or ever will need. When we have no strength, He is our strength. When we cannot stand, He is our rock, our foundation, a fortress against the forces that come against us. When we could not deliver ourselves from sin and death eternal, He came as our deliverer to free us from sin and death, to give us life eternal. What a magnificent God is our God! He shields us in the day of battle; He is our strong salvation; He is our Lord, God Almighty, in whom we trust. Blessed be the name of our Lord God!

May your love for the Lord be your strength as you trust in Him.

This week’s scriptures come from Genesis and Psalms:

“I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant…” (Genesis 32:10a)

“I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised…”  (Psalm 18:3a)

Despite our best efforts and intentions, at times we still seem to stumble in our walk and service to the Lord, for temptation and sin lie in wait for us and Satan comes to trip us up. It is humbling to be reminded that our strength is not sufficient, and we are not worthy of Him who has called us. But He is worthy! Thank God! Thank God! Thank God! He is worthy! The Lord is worthy and worthy to be praised, for He is our strength and our redeemer, without whom we are blind and lost. Only the blood of Jesus Christ shed for us allows us to stand against all that comes against us. Only His blood washes away our sins and allows us rise up to speak the truth: Jesus Christ is Lord. Praise God, Praise God, He is worthy.

May the mercies of the Lord Jesus Christ, the worthy One, the Son of God, bless you again and again.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
 (Psalm 16:11)

How beautiful it is to spend time in the presence of our Lord; what surpassing joy! What a blessing just to sit in His presence. The troubles and turmoil of the world try to overwhelm us, but in His presence there is peace. Out of His presence there is darkness, but in His presence there is light. Without Him we lose our way, but in His presence the path of life shines before us pointing the way. Come, take time today to sit in the presence of our Lord, to quiet yourself before Him, for He is jealous for you and wishes to bless you.

May the Lord grant you the blessing of spending time in His presence today.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“The LORD is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The LORD is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.”
(Psalm 145:8-9)

God answers prayer, and God is full of grace. The Lord is good and full of compassion. Though life’s trials and troubles come against us, we are not overcome, for we have seen the Lord relieve suffering, send healing, even stop the attacks of the enemy. His love for us is strong, boundless, never-ending, and His mercy is gentle and true. Let us remember to call upon our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God Almighty not only to protect and save us, but also to praise and thank Him for all He has done for us.

May the grace, mercy, and goodness of the Lord bless you each and every day.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Praise the LORD!

Praise, O servants of the LORD,
Praise the name of the LORD!
Blessed be the name of the LORD
From this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The LORD’s name is to be praised.”             (Psalm 113:1-3)

Praise the Lord! How blessed we are to be able to praise the Lord, for only those who know Him can sing His praises and bless His name. Praise the Lord! How blessed we are to be servants of the Lord Most High, for only those who are called by His name are called to serve Him. Praise the Lord! How blessed we are for we are His and He is ours for now and forevermore. Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise His Holy Name. Let us never stop praising the Lord. Blessed be His holy name.

May the Lord bless you as you praise Him, praise Him, praise Him.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture …”
 (Psalm 95:6-7a)

There is only one who is worthy of our worship, only one who is worthy of our adoration and reverence, only one before whom we should bow down and worship. He is the Lord Almighty, the God of heaven and earth and all the universe, the Holy One, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. He is the one who made us, the one who provides for us, the one who loves us, the one who sent His son to die for our sins that we might be forgiven, reconciled, and redeemed, that we might become His children. Come, let us worship Him with word and song, let us dance before His throne, let us pray and fast, let us bend our knees and bow our faces before our Lord and our God. Let us worship in His presence in spirit and in truth.

May the Lord bless you to worship Him with a joyful heart.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“[Give] to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.”
(Psalm 29:2)

Set your eyes upon the Lord. Look to Him. Let our hearts be filled with worshipping the Lord, praising Him and giving glory to His name. Too often we get distracted by the world and by troubles; we even get distracted by serving the Lord and doing ministry, yet the Word commands us that we are to first seek and worship the Lord, then all else will be given to us. So it is in heaven and so it should be on Earth, if we will be obedient instead of being busy. The angels in heaven sing “Holy, holy, holy” and give God glory, and everything the Lord wishes to accomplish is accomplished. He will work all things through us, if we let Him. Start by worshipping the Lord and giving Him glory, and see what He will do through you.

May your lips be filled with praise and worship each day as you give Him glory.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“… give thanks to the LORD for His goodness…” (Psalm 107:21a NKJV)

God is good; everything about God is good, for goodness is His very nature. All He has created is good; God’s goodness flows like living water from His throne of grace. God is good; there is no other like God: rich in mercy, patient and long-suffering, pouring out His blessings, showing love and kindness to each generation. He is wrapped in goodness like a cloak of light; it radiates from His very being. God is good, for He is trustworthy and true; He sent His son to redeem us, to bring His goodness to us, that His grace and mercy might save us, for His goodness overcomes all evil and is a shield about us. Give thanks to God for His great goodness; praise Him that He is good, for His goodness lasts forever. Amen.

May the goodness of the Lord bless you as you give Him praise and thanks.

This week’s scripture is from the Psalms:

“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.

For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever: your faithfulness you shall establish in the very heavens.”   (Psalm 89:1-2 NKJV)

Let us be ever mindful of the great mercy of the Lord and His exceeding faithfulness. His mercies are new every day and His faithfulness is perfect, beyond measure. May we ever remember His great mercy and unfailing faithfulness toward us. Let us remember to proclaim the Lord’s mercies and faithfulness to all who will listen, to every generation, to the very heavens, in praise and adoration. Thank you, Lord.

May you praise the Lord for His great mercy and faithfulness to you.

This week’s scripture is from the Psalms:

“He has sent his redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever:

Holy and awesome is His name”   (Psalm 111:9).

Thank God that He sent His son that we might know redemption through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Thank God that the new covenant in His blood for the forgiveness of sins sets us free. Thank God for His mercy and grace. Thank God that through His sacrifice we have the promise of eternal life with Him. This is truly good news. Holy and awesome is the name above all names. Praise God, praise God. Praise His holy name.

May the blessings of Christ, who died for us, be yours this day.
