This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Praying HandsHear my prayer, O God…  (Psalm 54:2)

If we belong to the Lord, we know He will hear our prayers for He is faithful and true. If we are righteous and repentant, He will hear our prayers for so He has promised. If we are faithful in praying, He will hear our prayers, for this is what His word says. Let us not be lax in prayer to our Lord, but let us continually come to Him in an attitude of prayer and humble ourselves before Him. Let us learn to pour out our hearts before Him and trust Him with every piece of our life. Let us learn to lay our burdens down before Him and take up our cross and bear it each day as we give ourselves into His hands and into His loving care.

May the Lord bless you as you pray.

This week’s scripture is from Hebrews:

Man holding arms up in praise against a sunburst“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”   (Hebrews 13:15)

Let us praise the Lord! Let us exalt His holy name; the name of the Lord be praised. Let us raise the name of the Lord on high; let us fill the air with our praises. Let us call upon His name and give thanks to Him who sacrificed Himself for us that we might know Him and the glory of His grace.

Let us fill our hearts with praise and open our lips to proclaim Him who came from God full of grace and truth. Let us fill our mouths with songs of praise and may our lips sing praises to His holy name, the name that is above all names. Let us rejoice in praising Him who is steadfast and true. Praise Him, Praise Him, Ever Praise Him!

May the Lord bless you to praise Him who is worthy of all honor and praise.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

Jesus Christ risen“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”         (2 Cor. 3:17)

To be truly free we must be free in the Lord, for the Spirit of the Lord is what makes us truly free; therefore we must belong to the Lord and have His Spirit in us. The covenant of the law brought condemnation, but the covenant in Jesus Christ brings freedom from condemnation and allows us to sit not under the law, but to sit in righteousness before the Lord, for by His Spirit we are transformed into His image, and by His Spirit we are given life, and in the next life, life eternal. So do not lose heart or grow weary in the confines of this life, but take on the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Faith, and be free in the Lord who loves you.

May the Spirit of the Lord bless you with the freedom of His love.

This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

Praying Hands“…when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father…”  (Matthew 6:6)

Those who believe, and belong to the Lord, know it is important to stay close to Him, to love and worship Him. We need to spend time in His word, but it is most important that we get alone every day and pray to the Lord. His son Jesus emphasized prayer to His disciples; He spoke about how to pray and He would  often go off to pray by Himself.

Prayer will help us keep close to God; so pray, give thanks, pour out your heart, and ask the Lord. Listen for Him to answer, whatever is His will, for our Heavenly Father always knows what is best for us. Pray for others, and pray for your loved ones. Do not miss out: spend time each day in His presence; seek out that private time to be with the One who loves you as only He can.

May you seek the Lord’s presence and pray to your Heavenly Father every day.

This week’s scripture is from Philippians:

Jesus Christ“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”    (Philippians 4:6)

How important it is to spend time in prayer. How easy it is to allow our troubles to distract us from prayer and to be plagued with anxious thoughts, to worry about our situation and to despair about tomorrow. When it seems that things will never get better we need to stop and turn to the Lord, for the Lord is able, and where there does not seem to be a way, the Lord can make a way, and where all seems lost, the Lord can be found.

Let us take hold and trust the Lord, for nothing can happen to us that He cannot handle for us. Let us trust in Him to whom we belong and let us praise Him and give thanks that in every situation He is with us; let us go to Him in prayer and seek His face that we might find our peace in Him.

May the Lord bless you as you pray and give Him thanks in every circumstance.

This week’s scripture is from John:

Jesus ChristI will not leave you all alone …   (John 14:18a)

At times this world can be a lonely place. Even in a crowd we can feel so very alone. The twists and turns of life can make us feel abandoned and desolate. Yet there is One who promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. Never. Let us remember that He is always right beside us; He is walking with us though whatever we are facing, whatever the situation.

Though our heart be breaking, though our thoughts cry out, He is there. Lean on Him. He has not left us as orphans, but He has sent us His Holy Spirit to be with us, to counsel us, to guide us, to comfort us. We are not alone; He is with us every day and every hour.

May you take joy in remembering that the Lord is always with you.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus Christ 4“May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”   (Psalm 33:22)

We must face each day with courage and hope in our Lord, for where the world is concerned there can only be uncertainty. Where there is peace today there may be war tomorrow; where we may have had a friend we will find an adversary. Even in our own lives trust is a precious thing and hope is often a wish that is not fulfilled.

Depending on the circumstances, our friends, our colleagues, our jobs, our health, even our families may fail us at times. Only the Lord and the Lord alone will not fail us, for He promises never to fail us or forsake us, and He never does, for His love is unfailing; His mercies are new each morning. We can place our hope in Him and He will be true to His word. Trust in His unfailing love.

May the Lord bless you with the faith of His unfailing love for you.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Samuel:

jesus_white“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”   (2 Sam. 22:33)

Our world is ever-changing; the tide of time ebbs and flows against the shores of our days. Nothing stays the same. We often seek to anchor ourselves against the storms of life, but our own hearts can toss us about on restless seas. In an uncertain world where does our strength come from?

Our strength comes from the Lord. The Lord is our strength and our portion. He makes a path before us and guides us in the way we should go. He strengthens us against every challenge and arms us with the truth of His word. He secures us against the darkness of this world and gives us the light of His Holy Spirit to lead us safely. Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace. Praise Him, for He cares for you.

May the Lord strengthen you this very day and keep your way secure.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus Christ 3“Show me your ways, LORD,
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.”
 (Psalm 25:4-5)

Every day the Lord has more blessings for us. Never will there come a time when we cannot learn from our Lord, for God is our Father and we are ever His children. His ways are higher than our ways and His path is the better path. Let us call on the Lord to lead and guide us every day and in every circumstance in our life, for He knows the way we should go and the path we should take for every situation. His way is the way of truth, the way of salvation, and the way of hope. Let us trust in the Lord our God and in His word, and let us not forget every morning to bring our day before Him in prayer and in thanksgiving.

May the Lord teach you His ways and bless you in the truth.
