This week’s scripture is from 2 Chronicles:

“Submit to the Lord …”    (2 Chron. 30:8)

Let us come before the Lord and bow down; let us surrender ourselves to His great love, for if we would belong to Him, if we would become His children and His disciples, we must surrender our lives to Him, and we must surrender everything. Let us submit every area of our life to Him; let us hold nothing back, but give it all to Him who loves us and gave Himself for us. Let us therefore repent of all that keeps us from Him, that which keeps us from prayer, that which keeps us from His word, that which keeps us from His presence: every distraction, every sin, every way in which we go our own way instead of going His way. Let us submit ourselves completely to His mighty love. Let us die to ourselves that we might live to Christ and His love.

May the Lord bless you to surrender to Him.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Peter:

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. (1 Peter 5:8b-9a)

Satan knows his time is short and he is filled with rage. It spills into the world as a tide of darkness and evil, rising against those who belong to the Lord. Wickedness comes out of the shadows and spiritual warfare is loosed upon God’s faithful. Yet let us remember Him who is faithful, and stand firm in Him. Let us call upon the name of the Lord and resist the devil. Let us take up the sword of the spirit, the word of God, and strike the enemy’s lies with truth and cut down his wickedness with Christ’s righteousness. Let us stand firm upon the rock of our salvation for He is our strength, our shield, and our rampart. Against the Lord, evil cannot stand; against His authority, evil must bow. Praise God and stand firm in the faith.

May the Lord bless you to stand firm in Christ.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,  casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”   (2 Cor. 10:4-5).

The Word reminds us that we are involved in warfare between good and evil, but the Lord does not leave us unarmed. Let us be mindful and encouraged that the weapons God has given us – worship, praise, and prayer – are powerful in the Lord, for what can stand against the Word and the might of the Lord. No stronghold of the enemy, no clever argument, nothing that exalts itself against the Lord can long stand, but we must also bring our own thoughts as prisoners so that they obey Christ, for in Christ we find the victory. Armor yourself and fight – speak the Word, sing His praises, pray and keep praying. Amen.

May the Lord strengthen you and bless you each day for the challenges placed before you.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Thessalonians:

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.  (2 Thess. 3:3)

Let us rejoice in the Lord, for He is the faithful one. He keeps His word from generation to generation. He does not change His word, but He speaks truth, and at His word the darkness trembles and is afraid. Call on Him and He will be there for you, for He does not forsake or leave His own, but He strengthens us with His word and reminds us of His love and His promises, which are yes and amen. The Lord does not leave us unprotected against the evil one, but His angels and His Holy Spirit will intercede for us and the Light of the Lord drives out the darkness and surrounds us with mercy and grace. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord Most High. Blessed be His holy name.

May the Lord bless you and make His light shine upon you.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“For the word of the LORD is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.

“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.”
  (Psalm 33:4-6)

Let us rededicate ourselves to reading the Word of God, for the Word is righteous, the Word is truth, the Word is a fount of life, a gift from God for guidance — for wisdom, for comfort, for joy, for peace, for praise, for protection, for inspiration, for healing; a blessing for the heart, for the mind, for the soul. The Word is the breath of God, the power of creation, the witness of salvation, the tongue of the Spirit, the revelation of eternal life, the everlasting love of the LORD. Thank God. Let us pray, “Open my heart and my mind to this your Word, O LORD, place it on my tongue, make it part of my very being, and let me speak love into the people and situations I encounter each day.”

May the Lord inspire you to open His word and walk in its blessings each and every day.

This week’s scripture is from Romans:

“If God be for us, who can be against us?”     (Romans 8:31b)

Many things in life may rise against us: troubles, hardship, illness. Work can become overwhelming, and deadlines unrelenting. Health can take a sudden turn; illness and injury can take a toll. Relationships can break down. For surely as we live these giants will challenge us. Yet let us remember what the scriptures teach us about when Goliaths rise up in our life. Though the outlook may seem dark and despair may try to take hold of us, we need to remember to whom we belong. We need to remember that we are a child of God, and He is for us and not against us, for God’s love is great and God’s love is powerful. Nothing in this life or this world can stop His love for us or stop His love from fulfilling its purpose in our life. Let us face our giants with Christ at our side for surely He fights for us and in Him we have the victory. For God gave His one and only son that we might never be separated from Him or the love of Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the love of the Lord be your strengthen this day and every day.

This week’s scripture is from Daniel:

“Peace be multiplied to you.

“I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.

“How great are His signs,
And how mighty His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion is from generation to generation.”
    (Daniel 4:1b-3)

Let us never forget that we serve a God of miracles for He is a wonder-working God and nothing is impossible with God. He heals, He provides, and He makes a way when there is no way. He shows himself in miracles great and small, and in the everyday miracles that form our very lives and that testify to His grace. May He forgive us if we take them for granted.

His wonders are on display in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and on the lands. The universe is a miracle of awesome wonder, magnificent and marvelous to behold; the tiniest particle of an atom is beyond our brilliance, and understanding life is still the greatest mystery of all. Yet above it all is the Lord God Most High, the Everlasting King, who in His miraculous grace loves us. He loves us. Hallelujah!

May the God of miracles, the God of grace, the God of glory, bless you this day and every day.

This week’s scripture is from Micah:

Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.   (Micah 7:7 NKJV)

Where do we look in times of trouble? Let us remember to look to the Lord. Where do we turn when trials and hardship are upon us? Let us be faithful to wait upon the Lord. When sickness comes, when the money is not there, when work is not working out, when relationships are breaking, where should we turn? Let us be ever mindful of our Lord and Savior. For if we will look to the Lord, if we will wait faithfully upon Him, if we will turn to Him, if we will call out and pray, He will hear us, for we are His children, His beloved, the fruits of His salvation. Let us remember to let the Lord be Lord over our lives, for He cares for us with an everlasting love, and the Lord will make a way where there is no way, if we will let Him.

May the Lord bless you to let Him be Lord of your life.

This week’s scripture is from Micah:

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you / But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God…”    (Micah 6:8)

How hard we try to please God. We often strive to please God, to be good servants. If we love God we try to be good disciples; we try to keep ourselves busy with “the Lord’s work.” We want to feel worthy of His love for the great sacrifice He made for us; we want to win souls for the kingdom, and to spread the Word and love of God into our world. Yet what is it that the Lord requires of us? What does He say is good?  Busyness? Accomplishments? Certainly He has work for His faithful, but what He wants from each of us is what is on God’s own heart. He wants what is right, but most of all He wants us to — walk with Him.

May our merciful God bless you to do as He wants us to do.

This week’s scripture is from James:

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.  Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”    (James 5:13-16)

Prayer is powerful, and the Lord is mighty. Let us not hold back, but in the power and the might of the Lord pray boldly, pray strong, pray in tongues, with thanksgiving and supplication, for the Lord Jesus makes intercession for us with the Father, God Almighty. Pray in the name Jesus Christ, pray in the power of His blood, death, and resurrection. Pray for healing and there will be healing; pray against suffering and suffering will cease; pray against sins and they will be forgiven; pray for salvation and salvation will come. Pray against the darkness and the light of Christ will destroy the darkness. Pray the Word of God; pray in the Holy Spirit. Pray in the power of His righteousness.  Pray and keep praying.

May the Lord bless you to pray and may He make your prayers bold through Christ.
