This week’s scripture is from John:

“Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”  (John 4:48)

Certainly Jesus performed signs and wonders, and many remarkable miracles, several of which are recorded in the scriptures, including feeding 5000 people with a boy’s lunch and healing the sick, the lame, and the dying, casting out demons, and even raising the dead to life. Some of us have been fortunate enough to see miracles in our own lives or in the lives of others in our time which have taken place through the power of Jesus’ blood and the Holy Spirit, but our faith does not rest in miracles or signs and wonders. Our faith, our belief, our trust rests in Him who is holy and righteous, the One who brought us salvation, the greatest miracle of all, that we might be reconciled to the Father and know Him. Christ is the greatest of miracles.

May the Lord bless you to believe.

This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matt. 6:13 NET)

A time of trial and testing is never pleasant, but sometimes the Lord uses such times to build us up spiritually. Such times force us to flex our spiritual muscles and thereby strengthen us to stand against temptations, against the wiles of the enemy of our soul, the accuser who continually delights to point out our failures and number our sins against us before the Lord. But there is One who sits at the right hand of the Father continually making intercession for us, who can deliver us from the evil one, for He is the One who was without sin, who sacrificed Himself that we might be able to stand and resist evil and temptation in His name and by the power of His blood. Let us not fail to call on Him in times of trial and temptation.

May the Lord bless you and deliver you from evil.

This week’s scripture is from Mark:

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 15:16)

Let us be obedient to the Lord’s command. Let us proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ into a lost and dying world, that He is the way, the truth, and the life, that He came that we might believe, repent, and be forgiven of our sins. Let us be bold to tell others what the Lord has done, and what He has done for us. His story in your life is the greatest witness you can give. Tell others how He came into your life and what He has done in your life, how you’ve been saved and how you are living out your faith in Him. Be His witness in your life, for then the Holy Spirit will draw them and bring them to repentance and new life. Share the good news, let them hear it, for faith comes by hearing and the message is through our Lord.

May the Lord make you bold to speak the good news to others.

This week’s scripture is from Acts:

“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.”   (Acts 13:38)

He came that we might know Him; He sacrificed himself and bled and died that we might be forgiven for our sins and receive eternal life. We know that if we are faithful to confess our sins He will forgive us. Let us not hold back, but let us come humbly before the Lord and freely confess our sins. Let us remember to forgive those who have wronged us for He forgives us in the same measure as we forgive those who have sinned against us. If Jesus forgave those who killed him who are we to not forgive those who have wronged us? We must forgive. And let us not neglect to forgive ourselves for our sins as well, for who are we to not forgive ourselves for our wrongs when the Lord has forgiven us? Forgive and be forgiven. Trust in Him.

May you be blessed by the Lord’s forgiveness and mercy.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.”   (John 14:26)

What great comfort, what great guidance, we receive from God’s word, for His words are the words of life, words to live by. What a great treasure is opened before us whenever we open the books of the Bible and look into them. There before our eyes in those glorious lines and verses are the pearls of God’s wisdom, the precious silver of His timeless truths, and the lustrous gold nuggets of grace that bring us comfort and joy. Here we are reminded of the promises of God, of the depths of His mercy, of the all-surpassing love that He has for each of us. All these things the Holy Spirit will remind us if we will but ask of Him. Let us not neglect to ask the Holy Spirit to teach us, to help us understand God’s word, to guide and direct us.

May the Holy Spirit counsel and teach you as you call upon His name.

This week’s scripture is from Deuteronomy:

For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome… (Deut. 10:17)

How great is God, what is it He cannot do? What is beyond His power if you call on Him? He is the great God above all gods, above all that there is or ever will be. He created the heavens and the earth and all the universe. He put stars and planets in their places, and set the galaxies to spin. He created the earth and everything in it, all the creatures that live and all the plants that grow. He set everything in motion and He stands outside of time, shepherd over all of creation. He created you; He knew you before you were born, and He knows the number of your days and everything about you. He knows you better than you know yourself, and He loves you because you belong to Him. What can He not do if you call on His name?

May you bow before the greatness of your Lord and God and trust in Him.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;       the whole earth is full of his glory.”       (Isaiah 6:3)

The Lord God Almighty is a holy god; there is none like Him. His spirit is the Holy Spirit; His very name is holy. There is no other god like Him. Everything about Him is holy. His love, His grace, His mercy are holy. He lives in the Most Holy Place; all of heaven worships Him as holy. All He does is holy; His glory fills the earth and we are to glory in His holy name. He is the One and Only, holy and mighty. He is the One who makes us holy; we are to be holy because He is holy. He has set His people apart, for He too is set apart. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty. Lift your voice and give Him praise, holy is His name.

May the holiness of God bow your heart in worship and adoration.

This week’s scripture is from Acts:

“…they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day…” (Acts 17:11)

How important it is to read the Word of God, to know the Word of God, to study the Word of God, for the Lord speaks to us through His word. We want God to speak to us; we want God to hear us. We want to hear God when we pray and when we have tough questions, and questions only He can answer. When we know His word, then He can speak to us through His word, for when we pray He will bring to mind His word; He will bring to mind a passage or a story or a parable or a person or remind us what Jesus said, and we will have our answer. We will know what we should do or what is the right path for us. He will give us answers; He will give us wisdom and hope, grace and peace. He will speak through His word to us. So let us be reminded to indulge ourselves in the Word of God, to read the living word and get life from it.

May the Lord bless you to read His word daily and be blessed by it.

Happy Easter!  This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, [just] as He said.”           (Matthew 28:5-6)

He is risen, He is risen, He is risen! Thank God, thank God, thank God Almighty. Jesus Christ is alive forevermore. He sacrificed Himself that we might be reconciled to God our Father, that we might know Him and the mercy of His grace. He is the bread of life, the Holy One, the Son of God; He sealed the new covenant in His blood that we might have the forgiveness of our sins, that we might have salvation and eternal life. Thank you Lord Jesus. How blessed we are to know His love and the beauty of His grace.

May the blessings of the Lord’s sacrifice strengthen you each day.

This week’s scripture is from Mark:

“Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it.  And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the [palm] trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”                  (Mark 11:7-10 NKJV)

Praise the Lord. Raise your voice! The Lord is come. Blessed be His name. Shout Hallelujah! He is come! He is come! He is come! The Prince of Peace, the Lord of Salvation, the Lord of Lords is come and we are blessed. Glory to God in the Highest! Sing, cry out! Praise His holy name. The Lord reigns! Here is the Lord, the Holy One, the Son of God. Rejoice you saints. Raise your voice; raise your hands; lift your hearts. Praise the Lord! The Lord is come! The Lord is come! The Lord is come! Blessed be His name! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen.

May the blessing of the coming of the Lord fill your heart with joy.
