Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 01/22/12

January 23, 2012

This week’s scripture is from Exodus:

“The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him…”
(Exodus 15:2)

The world makes us weary; our bodies grow tired; the enemy of our soul wears us down. Yet we must keep standing; we must stand. So where does our strength come from? It comes from the Lord, yes, the Lord God Almighty, King of heaven and Earth and all the universe. For we are weak, but He is strong; He is our salvation and our shield. He never grows weary; He never tires; He has defeated Satan. He is our God and we should praise Him; He is our loving Father and we should exalt Him. Sing praises to the Lord, for He inhabits the praises of His people; draw near to Him and He will strength you.

May the Lord bless you with His strength this very day as you exalt Him with praise.

Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 08/22/10

This week’s scripture is from Exodus:

“The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished…”        (Exodus 34:6-7a)

In these challenging times, it is good to remember who God is. In this scripture, God is speaking to Moses, proclaiming His name. Look how He describes Himself and reveals who He is. How blessed we are to be the children of the Almighty One, whose grace, mercy, and love abound in our lives, whose faithfulness is everlasting and true, who is forgiving of grievous sin, yet is just and righteous. What a great and good God we have as our Heavenly Father. Let us praise Him and thank Him for all His blessings, for there is no other like Him.

May God’s great blessings, His very nature, be yours this day and each day as you praise Him.
