Happy Easter!  This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, [just] as He said.”           (Matthew 28:5-6)

He is risen, He is risen, He is risen! Thank God, thank God, thank God Almighty. Jesus Christ is alive forevermore. He sacrificed Himself that we might be reconciled to God our Father, that we might know Him and the mercy of His grace. He is the bread of life, the Holy One, the Son of God; He sealed the new covenant in His blood that we might have the forgiveness of our sins, that we might have salvation and eternal life. Thank you Lord Jesus. How blessed we are to know His love and the beauty of His grace.

May the blessings of the Lord’s sacrifice strengthen you each day.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

jesus_white“Let him trust in the name of the Lord, And rely upon his God.”  (Isaiah 50:10 NKJV)

Let us trust in the one who called us; the one to whom we belong, for He is the one who knows us, the one who made us, for He saw us in the secret place before we were born. He saw the moment we came to be; He knitted us together in our mother’s womb. He knows the number of our days; He knows every breath we will take; He knows us better than we know ourselves; He knows that which is good and that which is not, and yet He loves us with an everlasting love. What does He not know? What can He not do? Let us trust in the Lord; let us come before Him in prayer, for He cares for us. Let us ever trust in the Lord.

May the Lord bless you to put your trust in Him.

This week’s scripture is from Luke:

SONY DSC“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”   (Luke 11:28 ESV)

If we have heard the word of God, if it has been spoken into our life, we are blessed. If we have heard the word of God and understood it, if we have responded to the word of God and have given ourselves to Him, then we are greatly blessed. If we have come to know Him who is the living Word, who was the Word in the beginning, who was the Word with God and the Word who is God, then we are blessed beyond measure.

Therefore, let us not neglect to spend time with the Word and in the Word, for in His Word are the words of life: words to live by, words of wisdom, words of His love, words that lead to eternal life. Let us each day take up His word and place it in our heart; let us take up His word and speak it into the world. Let us keep His word by giving it away; let us be obedient to speak the Good News of Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless you to be true to His word.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus Christ risen“For God is the King of all the earth … God reigns over the nations.”   (Psalm 47:7,8)

In these days, in these times, it is easy to look at the world and the rise of evil and know despair. We see countries in chaos as people clash in the streets; we see war and terrorism spreading even into peaceful nations. Yet in all of this, the Lord stands fast. Let us remember Him who is sovereign over all the earth and all peoples; let us remember who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The rulers of the earth make their plans, but it is the Lord who reigns, and it is He who governs the lives of people and nations. He is the one who allows nations to rise and fall, and it is He who will bring in the end time harvest, for in all things the Lord’s will, will be done, and He will be exalted above the heavens and the earth, forever.

May your lips sing praises to the Lord God Most High.

This week’s scripture is from Acts:

Shield with cross“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?”   (Acts 4:25)

Our nation, actually the whole world, is raging right now in spiritual warfare. And the battle is raging in the hearts and souls of people everywhere, a great conflict between darkness and light. Yet let us always remember that God is sovereign, our Lord is always in complete control even when we are not, when the world is not. He is sovereign over all the earth and all that is in it. It is only by His word and His will that things happen, for He is God Almighty. He has complete authority; He has complete power. He knows the end from the beginning: He is alpha and omega. All that has happened, all that is happening, and all that will ever happen are part of His plan for the salvation and the redemption of His church and His people.

May your heart rise up and praise the Lord.

This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

bible-john-closeup-2“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”  (Matt. 24:11)

In these days we have seen those who have left the Word of God to go chasing after the doctrines of men or the doctrines of demons, those who have taken it upon themselves to say and to teach that the Word of God does not say what the Word of God says, who have corrupted the Word to fit the times we live in, to redefine what God says is true and acceptable. Let us not be one of those swayed by the words of men, but let us stand true to His Word and the truth that is eternal. Let us stay centered on Christ our Lord, for He is the author and finisher of our faith; He is the Word made flesh, the Holy One of God.

May the Lord bless you to stay in the truth of His word.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus Christ risen“Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.”  (Psalm 84:12)

Our Lord, our God, King of heaven and earth and all the universe, is the mighty one, all powerful and all knowing, full of compassion and mercy, faithful and true. He is the living God, full of power and glory. His word is truth and His breath is life. Whatever He speaks comes to pass; He stretches out His hand and it is done, for there is none like Him. His is the power to create; His is the power to bring life; His is the power to make right; His is the power to save. Blessed are we when we depend on Him. Blessed are we when we depend not on our own understanding or our own devices but trust in Him, for His love for us is the greatest of all blessings. Let us humble ourselves beneath His mighty hand and praise His holy name.

May you always for everything put your trust in the Lord.

This week’s scripture is from Luke:

jesus_white“Occupy till I come.”    (Luke 19:13 KJV)

Many are eagerly awaiting the Lord’s return. As our world becomes awash by tides of evil and perversion, and our lives become an ever-increasing struggle against the encroaching darkness it can be difficult not to fall into despair. Even those who are adept at prayer and spiritual warfare, who faithfully storm the gates of heaven with their prayers, are feeling the weight and oppression of the deepening darkness.

In the increasingly fierce spiritual warfare, some have been wounded and some discouraged; yet the Lord calls to his own; He calls his faithful, “Occupy till I come.” Let us therefore rise up, put on the armor of God, and march into the battle. Let us continue to preach the good news, baptize new believers, make disciples, and teach them His word. Let us continue to help and pray for the sick and the less fortunate, the oppressed and the lost. Let us continue to work and to be like Christ in this world until He returns.

May the Lord bless you with His protection and His strength as you trust in Him.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

Man holding arms up in praise against a sunburst“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” (2 Cor. 13:11)

In these days of uncertainty and strife, we can at times feel troubled and quite alone, but if we are in Christ Jesus, if we are a child of God and we belong to Him, then we are not alone, for in Christ we have a world of brothers and sisters as well as our heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit, for we know that He will never, never leave us or forsake us. Let us therefore be comforted and remember to encourage ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us remember each day to love one another and to pray for each other. Let us not neglect to call upon the Lord everyday for all our brothers and sisters in Christ.

May the Lord encourage you each day to pray and keep praying.

This week’s scripture is from Romans:

Jesus risen“…through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”    (Romans 8:2)

Freedom is a great blessing and independence is valued, but true freedom comes not from the world of man but from Christ, for He came to set the captives free. Those who are still bound by sin are not free, and those who are subject to death that comes from sin are not free, but if we are free in Christ, free from the law of sin and death, we have the Spirit of Life and we are truly free. It is a great mystery that the more dependence we have on Christ the more free we are; the more we bind ourselves to Him the freer we will be, but it is the law of the Holy Spirit, the law of God, and we are His, made free by His sacrifice. Thank God.

May gratitude flow from the freedom you have in Christ Jesus.
