This week’s scripture is from John:

“Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”        (John 7:37b-38)

It is good to thirst for the Lord, to desire Him like a dry land desires the rain, to seek after Him with a longing heart, to want to drink-in His righteousness and water your weary soul. Pray that the Lord grant you favor to be thirsty for Him, to seek Him each morning, and in every circumstance, not to stand against the challenges of life alone, not to try to stand in your own strength, but to go to Him first, to drink deep of His Holy Spirit, to go to the Living Water, for when we are filled, then the Living Water will flow out of us and the Spirit of Truth will bring life and life abundant into every person and every situation.

May the Lord make you thirsty for Him, each and every day, in every circumstance.

This week’s scripture is from Job:

“… by his light I walked through darkness!”    (Job 29:3b)

We are witnesses: the news is full of strife and trouble; darkness presses in; the world groans; our hearts grow weary within us. Illness and oppression dog our walk; suffering and pain inhabit our days. But there is One who stays closer than a brother! Let us remember Him who is our Light and our Salvation, the Lord Almighty, for in Him there is no darkness, and before Him darkness flees. We need not fear the darkness when we walk in the Light of the Lord, for His word is a lamp unto our feet, and His light opens a path before us. Sing praise to God Almighty. Thank Him for sending the light. Thank Him for  Jesus Christ, His son.

May the Lord bless you to walk in the light when darkness comes.

This week’s scripture is from Acts:

“It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth …

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”          (Acts 4:10,12)

Let us proclaim the truth: It is in His name and by His name that we live and have our being, in Christ and in Christ alone. For the word of God says that Jesus Christ is Lord and there is no other, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, for at His name every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen.

May the Lord give you grace to boldly proclaim His name into a dying world.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all Your works;
I muse on the work of Your hands.
I spread out my hands to You;
My soul longs for You like a thirsty land.”
          (Psalm 143:5-6)

Blessed be the soul that is thirsty, that longs for God, for it will be filled. For a river of Living Waters flows from beneath the throne of God: a river of life, a purifying flood, a cleansing stream, a revitalizing flow that brings life to a dry soul. Soak up the waters like a parched land soaks up the gentle rain from heaven. Immerse yourself beneath the flood and let the waters flow over you. Drink deep of the water of life; be filled with the Holy Spirit; be refreshed and restored, for the water He gives becomes a fountain springing up into eternal life. Lift up your hands, praise the Lord, and soak in His presence.

May the Lord bless you to thirst for Him, and for your soul to be refreshed in Him.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Corinthians:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

“Love never fails.”    (1 Cor. 13:4-8a)

These beautiful words are not simply a divine description of love and instruction on how to love; they are a reflection of God Himself and His love for us. In every way and in every quality this is God’s love and God’s character, for God is love, and His son Jesus Christ is the very embodiment and essence of love. God sent His son into the world as a profound statement of His love, a surpassing love beyond all understanding. Let us then as sons and daughters, as obedient servants, of the Most High go forth in the spirit of love — loving one another, witnessing in love, persevering in love, serving in love, and loving God.

May the love of God overwhelm you and flow out to those to whom He sends you.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Peter:

“If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”           (1 Peter 4:11)

It is an honor to serve the Lord, to work to advance His kingdom, to bring the good news, to declare freedom to the captives. Yet not of ourselves, for we have not the strength, we have not the power, we have not the capacity to change minds, to serve without swerving, to humble the proud, to move men’s hearts. To God be the glory, to God be the power, to God be the praise forever and ever, for He supplies every need, He make us bold to speak truth, He makes crooked paths straight and leads in the narrow way, all to the glory though our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, the Holy One. Praise be to God!

May the Lord bless you and may He bless the ministry He has given you. Amen.

This week’s scripture is from Nehemiah:

“… for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”  (Nehemiah 8:10b)

So many are suffering these days; hardships and hindrances dog our steps. We see the world sinking into corruption. Oppression is a daily struggle with the enemy. Affliction and trouble intrude in our life. Disappointment and depression shadow our days. We cry out for relief, for healing, for strength, for a word. Our burdens weaken us; our joy ebbs.

Surrender your brokenness to the Lord, for He is preparing for the day of the Lord. This is not the season of despair, He says; this is the time of purification. He is cleansing His people; He is sending them through the refiner’s fire. All of the sins still that cling, all of the broken places, all of the dross will be burned off in the fires of refinement until we come forth strong and pure, a clean reflection of our Lord. All is in His hands. Rejoice, and praise God for He is purifying us; He will restore our joy.

May the joy of the Lord be your strength as He continues to bless you.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,  their starry host by the breath of his mouth.”    (Psalm 33:4-6)

Let us rededicate ourselves to reading the Word of God, for the Word is righteous, the Word is truth, the Word is a fount of life, a gift from God for guidance — for wisdom, for comfort, for joy, for peace, for praise, for protection, for inspiration, for healing; a blessing for the heart, for the mind, for the soul. The Word is the breath of God, the power of creation, the witness of salvation, the tongue of the Spirit, the revelation of eternal life, the everlasting love of the LORD. Thank God. Let us pray, “Open my heart and my mind to this your Word, O LORD, place it on my tongue, make it part of my very being, and let me speak love into the people and situations I encounter each day.”

May the Lord inspire you to open His word and walk in its blessings each and every day.

This week’s scripture is from Genesis:

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.”    (Genesis 1:1-3, 31)

God is good, and all He does is good. He was in the beginning, and by His Word everything that is or ever will be came into existence. He spoke into that which was empty and dark, and there was light dispelling the darkness, just as Jesus, the Living Word, then came into this sin-darkened world and brought the light of salvation. Everywhere the light of God’s word goes, the darkness is dispelled and God’s goodness breaks into the light. Praise God for sending the light into our lives.

May the light of God’s word continue to shine in your life as you share it with others.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  (Isaiah 9:6)

Let us praise God that we can gather together and celebrate the advent of Christ’s birth, for He came that we might know Him and the beauty of His grace, that through Him all creation might know salvation, that the peace of God might reign in us. Thank God that He sent His Son. May we forever praise His name and preach the good news, that some might believe and receive eternal life in Christ.

May the Lord bless you this Christmas season with all the blessings of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
