This week’s scripture is from Romans:

Warfare Prayer“We know that the whole creation has been groaning…” (Rom. 8:22 NRSV)

It is clearly seen in these days that the world, that nations, are locked in a titanic struggle between good and evil. It appears that the sons of light and the sons of darkness are taking their places upon the stage of the world. The children of God are under assault spiritually and physically, and in every other way, as they struggle to not be overcome by the rising tide of evil. Those who belong to evil have become bold in their boasting and blasphemies.

Yet the Lord is not unaware; He sees all that is taking place and He laughs as the nations roar and evil has its day, for His day is coming when none will be able to stand against His mighty hand and His word will cut the enemy down like grass before His righteous blade. Let us take up the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and wield it against the dark forces that oppose us and our Lord. Let us call upon Him and pray; pray in His word; pray in power; pray in the Spirit; pray in His holy name.

May the Lord embolden you to pray, and keep praying.

This week’s scripture is from Jeremiah:

“Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand…”        (Jeremiah18:6b)

A lump of clay cannot shape and mold itself; it needs the potter’s hands to shape and mold it. It is the potter who knows what the clay should be made into and how it should be shaped by his hands to make it come out just right. Have you truly given yourself into the potter’s hands? The clay must submit to being worked, watered, kneaded, turned, drawn, and ultimately shaped to be made into something useful. Give yourself into the hands of the Lord, for He is our potter and we are but clay in His hands. Let Him mold and shape you into what He created you to be, for that will be the best thing you can ever become.

May you give yourself totally into the Potter’s hands and let Him shape you.

This week’s scripture is from Daniel:

“Peace be multiplied to you.

“I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.

“How great are His signs,
And how mighty His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion is from generation to generation.”
    (Daniel 4:1b-3)

Let us never forget that we serve a God of miracles for He is a wonder-working God, and nothing is impossible with God. He heals; He makes a way when there is no way. He shows himself in miracles great and small, and in the everyday miracles that are our very lives. May He forgive us if we take them for granted, for we live in the miracle of His grace to us.

His wonders are on display in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and on the lands. The universe is a miracle of awesome wonder, magnificent and marvelous to behold; the tiniest particle of an atom is beyond our brilliance, and understanding life is still the greatest mystery of all. Yet above it all is the Lord God Most High, the Everlasting King, who in His miraculous grace loves us. He loves us. Hallelujah!

May the God of miracles, the God of grace, the God of glory, bless you this day and each day.

This week’s scripture is from Romans:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”    (Romans 12:1-2)

To belong to Him is to be changed, for we are no longer what we were but we now are His. In His mercy and grace we are made new, for He lives within us; the old is gone and the new has come, for now we are servants of the Most High God, a new creation in Christ. We are not ours but His; we are sacrificed to Him; no longer are we to be shaped by this world, but we are of His making and of His kingdom. Our heart belongs to Him; our mind belongs to Him, whose thoughts are greater than our thoughts, whose ways are higher than our ways, and who means to transform us into kingdom dwellers in His Kingdom.

May you allow the Lord to transform you into the person He created you to be.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Kings:

“… for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.”   (1 Kings 8:11b)

In Solomon’s day the glory of the Lord filled the temple, but in our time the Holy Spirit resides within us. If you have come to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, then the Holy Spirit lives within you, for the Lord has said that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God will shine out of you. Remember who you belong to; remember what He has said and what He has promised. You carry the Holy Spirit of God within you. Overflow with the Spirit and pour out upon others that which He has given to you. Pour out blessing, pour out mercy, pour out healing, pour out the Lord’s grace, pour out His love.

May the glory of the Lord shine forth from you today as a child of the living God.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”    (Psalm 139:13-14)

Who knows you better than you know yourself?  Who knows when you rise and when you rest? Who is the one who knows everything about you from before you were born to your place in eternity? Who holds the number of your days in His hands? The Lord says He knew you and He formed you; He was with you before you entered the world. You are meant to be His; you are meant to belong to Him. Praise the Lord and lift His name. You are a miracle of God; you are a child of the Most High. Stand in the glory of His grace; give thanks and bless His holy name. His hand is upon you; trust in Him.

May the blessings and wonder of the Lord’s grace and goodness light your way.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“In your anger do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent
… trust in the LORD.”
     (Psalm 4:4-5)

We cannot enter the Lord’s rest if we are angry, for that is sin. There is an anger that is righteous, that rails against the injustices of the world and evil, but there is another anger that is unrighteous that can lead to rebellion and sin. It often disguises itself in more subtle forms such frustration, bitterness, disappointment, or despair when we rail against those things that are thrown up against us, the twists and turns that life takes, the things that we worked for or wanted that didn’t happen or the things that we never wanted that came anyway: hardship, illness, disease, persecution, failure, death, loss. These eat away at the soul, wrack the body, and dim the spirit. But the Lord says, the Lord commands, that we trust in Him, that we give up our grief and our sorrow, that in our anger we do not sin by not trusting in Him, for He is the Lord God Almighty, He cares for us, and we must always give ourselves into His hands and trust Him.

May the Lord bless you to enter into His rest by giving up all anger and disappointments to Him.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’”    (Psalm 91:2)

We live in a fallen world, torn by strife and corrupted by sin. Truth is in short supply. Those who are wise in their own eyes deceive the people and lead them astray from the word of God. Satan goes about in and throughout the Earth spreading his lies, destroying lives, chaining his victims to ruin and death. Even our own hearts are deceptive and untrustworthy. There is only one in who we can trust: the Lord God Almighty, King of Heaven and Earth and all the universe. Only in Him can we find our hope and our happiness, only in Him can we find rest for our souls and protection from the onslaught of the enemy.

May the Lord be your refuge and your fortress, and may He bless you with truth.

This week’s scripture is from Hebrews:

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith …  (Hebrews 12:2a)

We get lost, we get preoccupied, with the world, with work, with life. The enemy moves subtly against the saints, distracting and hindering. Opposition can be quiet yet consistent, using up our time, pulling us away, drying up the hours, occupying our thoughts, turning about in our mind, slowly wearing down the day until it is gone and weariness drops us off to sleep, short on prayer, lacking in the Lord, missing time in His word, leaving things undone. We chastise ourselves, but tiredness takes us down. Lift up your heart, saints, turn your eyes on Jesus, look up to the Lord of Glory, turn every thought, turn every situation, over to Him, set your gaze upon Him, call upon Him, let Him be your strength, praise His name.

May the Lord bless you not to be distracted or hindered, but to rise up in the power of Jesus Christ.

Happy Easter!  This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, [just] as He said.”     (Matthew 28:5-6)

He is risen, He is risen, He is risen! Thank God, thank God, thank God Almighty. Jesus Christ is alive forevermore. He sacrificed Himself that we might be reconciled to God our Father, that we might know Him and the mercy of His grace. He is the bread of life, He is the Son of God, He sealed the new covenant in His blood that we might have the forgiveness of our sins, that we might have salvation and eternal life. Thank you Lord Jesus. How blessed we are to know His love and the beauty of His grace.

May the blessings of the Lord’s sacrifice strengthen you as you follow in His ways.
