This week’s scripture is from Nahum:

”The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him” (Nahum 1:7).

The Lord cares for you. Trust in the Lord for the Lord is good. When times of trouble like storm clouds rise, trust in His goodness. It is good to know that the One who loves us, the One who knows us, is there for us. He is a refuge to protect us, a stronghold against what comes against us. He is the One to whom we can run; we run into Him and we are safe. We can go to the Lord, for we can trust Him to take care of us, to watch over us, to be good to us in the midst of life’s storms. Trust in the Lord for He cares for you.

May the Lord bless you with His goodness, and may your troubles be light.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

You are my Father, my God … (Psalm 89:26)

It is good to remember who you belong to, for if you believe, then you belong to Him, and He is the great God Almighty. He is the creator of the Earth and all the universe; He is the author of all life; He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is Holy; He is Righteousness; He is the Truth. He resides in heaven above, yet He sent His son to Earth that we might know Him, that we might know the beauty of His holiness, that we might know the way to salvation and eternal life. He is the One and the Only; He is Exalted; He is the All in All. Yet He calls us His children, for He is our Father, our Father who loves us. Yes, He loves us.

May you know God as Father, and know His love for you.

This week’s scripture is from 1 John:

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true”  (1 John 5:20a)

Jesus came that we might know Him and the beauty of His grace. Certainly He came that we might receive salvation and be reconciled to God, but He wants us to know Him, as we are known by Him. The Lord wants us not only to believe, He wants us to become disciples. He knows us and He wants us to know Him as brother and friend, as well as Lord and Savior. To know Him, to be disciples, we must spend time with Him. He has given us His holy word; He has taught us how to pray; He has sent the Holy Spirit to give us understanding. Let us resolve to know Him who is true, who came for us, and who died for us.

May the Lord bless you with a heart that hungers for Him.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” (Psalm 2:12b)

In this world there is little on which we can always depend, little in which we can trust to be faithful or true, for the foundations of this world are ever shifting and the precepts ever bending to the winds of change. But there is One in whom we can place our trust who does not shift His foundation and who does not change; One who is always faithful and true. The Lord God Almighty is our rock and our salvation. We can trust Him in times of trial and troubles; we can trust in His word to be faithful and true; we can trust that He will be there when we call upon Him, and He will deliver us through His mercy and grace.

May you be blessed as you trust in the Lord this very day.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Thessalonians:

“He who calls you is faithful …”   (1 Thess. 5:24a)

Let us remember the Lord who is unfailing and ever faithful. He came in truth and righteousness; in this He never wavers or changes. He watches over us and provides for us. In time of need He is always there for us. He is for us and not against us. Even when we are not faithful, He is faithful; He does not forsake His own. He is the Lord Almighty, the Holy One, who gave Himself for us that we might know Him and His righteousness, that we might know the truth and be sanctified by His blood, death, and resurrection. He calls us to be faithful to our calling, to die to self and to live to Christ, that in Him we should live by faith.

May the Lord who is ever faithful bless you this day.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Hear my prayer, O Lord…”(Psalm 143:1a)

Let us go to a quiet place and draw near to the Lord our God; let us bow our head and our heart before Him and pray and seek His face. Let us worship His holiness and give Him thanks for all the ways He provides for us, for He is faithful and full of mercy, and in Him lie hope and forgiveness. Let us learn the language of supplication, and in every situation, whatever the circumstances, let us, like Christ, go first to our Father in prayer. If we face troubles, let us pray; if we are sick, let us pray. If we don’t know what to do, let us pray. If we wish to do the Lord’s will, let us pray. Pray to the Lord, for He is faithful to hear you.

May the Lord bless you each day to spend time with Him in prayer.

This week’s scripture is from Philippians:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)

How important it is to spend time in prayer. How easy it is to allow our troubles to distract us from prayer and to be plagued with anxious thoughts, to worry about our situation and to despair about tomorrow. When it seems that things will never get better we need to stop and turn to the Lord, for the Lord is able, and where there does not seem to be a way, the Lord can make a way, and where all seems lost, the Lord can be found. Let us take hold and trust the Lord, for nothing can happen to us that He cannot handle for us. Let us trust in Him to whom we belong and let us praise Him and give thanks that in every situation He is with us; let us go to Him in prayer and seek His face that we might find our peace in Him.

May the Lord bless you as you pray and give Him thanks.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

“Let him trust in the name of the Lord
And rely upon his God.”
(Isaiah 50:10 NKJV)

Let us trust in the One who called us; the one to whom we belong, for He is the one who knows us, the one who made us, for He saw us before we were born. He saw the moment we came to be; He knitted us together in our mother’s womb. He knows the number of our days; He knows every breath we will take; He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows that which is good about us and that which is not, and yet He loves us with an everlasting love. What does He not know? What can He not do? Let us trust in the Lord; let us come before Him believing, in prayer, for He cares for us. Let us ever trust in the Lord.

May the Lord bless you to put your trust in Him.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.
(Psalm 136:1,26)

Let us give thanks to the God of heaven, for He is good and all He does is good. Let us praise Him for His goodness to us, for His love is everlasting. It knows neither times or seasons; there is never a time when the Lord is without love. He does not forsake us or stop loving us even when we are disobedient. When we belong to the Lord, we can always depend on His love, for God is love. His love never gives up; His love never fails; His love sets us free, for He sent His beloved son to show us His great love for us, and He sacrificed Himself for us that we might be able to love God and be reconciled to Him. How great is the love of God for us. How great His goodness and mercy to us. Let us give thanks to God for His great love.

May the Lord of Heaven bless you with His love this very day.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”   (John 16:33)

Though we can sometimes wonder why God allows our lives to be marked by trouble, we know that this fallen world can be a dark and troublesome place where we find ourselves struggling against the darkness and against the pain of suffering, sin, sickness, and death. Yet, there is a strange comfort in Jesus’ words acknowledging that we will have trouble in this world, for it reminds us that trouble comes from this fallen world and not from our Lord, for in Him, and Him alone, we can find peace from the troubles of this life. Try as we might we have not the power to overcome, but Jesus has overcome the world. He has defeated the darkness; He has triumphed; He is victorious, and if we are in Him and He is in us, then we too can overcome the world through Him, for in Him we have life and victory and peace. Let us rejoice and be glad, for we can have peace through our Lord Jesus Christ. What a great blessing!

May the Lord bless you today with an abiding peace.
