Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 02/21/21

This week’s scripture is from Luke:

“Peace be with you.”   (Luke 24:36b)

Peace. Where does our peace come from? It does not come from the world. The news of the world is disturbing. The world is not at peace. We seek peace, we long for peace, but even in our own lives we face troubles and difficulties that distress our heart. We find a moment’s peace, but then conflict arises; we suffer some hardship; illness or injury visits our life. Our peace is fleeting. Yet there is One known as the Prince of Peace who can calm any storm. The peace He brings to our heart is a peace that is beyond our circumstances, beyond all troubles, beyond our understanding. When we call upon Him and trust in Him, His peace will rest upon us. He will take up our sorrows and our burdens. He gives not as the world gives, He gives us peace, for He is the Lord of Peace. Hallelujah.

May the peace of the Lord attend your way each and every day.
