Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 01/27/19

January 28, 2019

This week’s scripture is from Colossians:

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving…”    (Colossians 4:2)

We serve a mighty God; mighty is His name; mighty is His name in prayer. Pray in the name of the Lord; pray in the name of Jesus Christ, His Son. Pray in believing; pray in faith; pray in fervent resolve; pray with thanksgiving. If anyone is sick, pray for them for God heals; if anyone is lost, pray for their salvation for God saves; if anyone is in need, pray that the need be fulfilled for God provides; if anyone is in sorrow, pray for comforting for God brings peace; if anyone is in trouble, pray for resolution for God can make a way. Be steadfast in prayer. Let no situation pass by that does not receive prayer. Pray and keep praying.

May the Lord bless you to be faithful to pray and persistent in prayer.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To declare Your loving-kindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night…”
(Psalm 92:1-2)

Let us give thanks to the Lord; let our lips be full of praise; let our voices exalt His Holy name, for the Lord is good to us. He blesses us each morning; His ever-loving kindness overflows to us. Whenever we need Him, He is there; whatever we need, He provides. He sent His Son that we might know Him and the fullness of His grace; He sent His Holy Spirit that we might live the revelation of His word. His faithfulness is steadfast and true. God blesses us every day. Let us praise the Lord for His love and faithfulness.

May your heart sing praises to the Lord and your lips praise His Holy name.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Corinthians:

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”
(1 Cor. 15:57-58 NKJV).

In these days, let us remember Christ who has the victory already in His hands, but let us also be mindful of the necessity to strengthen the people, for many are weak in the Lord, and when times get hard they may fall away. Wherever the Lord has placed you be it preacher, teacher, neighbor, friend, stand firm and speak the Word boldly; teach them how to be strong in the Lord. Show them the true power of love, which is stronger than evil, stronger than hate, stronger than death. Be steadfast in the Lord, and labor in the Truth. Take heart for the Lord is coming.

May the Lord bless you with boldness and opportunity to speak the Word into the lives of others.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men”   (John 1:1-4).

It is good to remember that everything begins with the Lord, for He is the living Word, who is with God and was sent by God. When God spoke the Word, everything that is came into existence, everything in the universe, and everything in the world, including all life and all the living. Since the beginning, Our Lord Jesus Christ has been the light of life, the light of the world, and He remains our light in the darkness. He is the light of our salvation and our light unto eternity. Praise God for sending the Light. Praise God for sending His son Jesus Christ that we might know Him and the glory of His grace. Praise His holy name.

May the light of the Lord shine upon you and light your way.

This week’s scripture is from Revelation:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty”   (Rev.1:8).

The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, our Lord and our God. In these days and months ahead, let us remember Him who is sovereign over all the earth, over all time, over all history, over all people, over everything that ever has been, is, and ever will be. May we be in awe of Him who is Lord of All, Most High God, the Almighty One, who loves us and sent His Son that we might know Him and the beauty of His mercy and grace, now and forevermore; blessed be His name. Praise God; Praise God.

May the Lord God Almighty ever reign as the Lord of your life through His son, Jesus Christ.
