Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 05/27/18

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“We wait in hope for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.”
(Psalm 33:20-21)

When life comes hard against us, and our hearts are breaking, and crying out for relief, there is one who is holy and true, in whom we can trust, and his name is Lord of Lords. In Him we have our hope and our being, and our hope is not some wishful longing, but it is the assurance of Jesus Christ that He is our salvation and our shield. He sits at the right hand of the Father ever making intercession for the saints, and His words are true and righteous, life-giving and eternal. In Him we can wait; in Him we can trust, for He will not withhold his blessings from those who belong to Him. Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord Jesus.

May your heart be open to trust in the Lord and wait in hope for his blessings.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Praise the Lord!

Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty heavens!

Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His surpassing greatness!”
    (Psalm 150:1-2)

How blessed we are to be children of the Most High God. Praise the Lord! How blessed we are to have received His saving grace. Praise God! How blessed we are that His Son, Jesus Christ, died for us, for our salvation. Praise the Lord God Almighty. How blessed we are to have forgiveness of our sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Praise His Holy name. How blessed we are to have been set free from sin and death. Praise the Lord Most High. How blessed we are that the Son of God sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession. Praise the Lord! How blessed we are for His mercy and grace. Praise Him!

May the praises from your lips rise up to the Throne of Grace as you remember His mighty blessings.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”  (John 6:68)

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the living Word and His word is eternal. When the concerns and troubles of life are upon us sometimes they distract us from where we should be seeking our healing and relief. Yet He has given us His word, for He is the word, and His word brings life. Let us not neglect to spend time in the word, for it is good to be in the word; it is valuable for seeking the answers to our problems and dilemmas; it is full of wisdom, and a light in the darkness. The word is powerful to heal and to bind up, to bear witness and to forgive. The word is truth, and that truth brings life, the truth that leads to eternal life.

May the Lord bless you to be in His word this very day.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the LORD’s praise,
for he has been good to me.”
(Psalm 13:5-6)

Our troubles may at times seem daunting, but we can trust in the Lord to save us, for it is His love for us that is our strength, a love greater than the greatest problems, a love that overcomes every attack of the enemy, a love that has defeated even death and brings eternal life in Christ Jesus. “It is so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his word,” says the old song, and so true it is. Let your heart rejoice at His matchless love for you; trust in Him and sing praises to His name for He will deliver you; He will be good to you, for no good thing will He withhold from those who love Him and are called by His name.

May the blessings of the Lord be upon you as you trust and praise Him.
