Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 02/25/18

February 26, 2018

This week’s scripture is from John:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”   (John 14:27)

Let us call upon the Lord. How often our hearts are troubled within us for we live in a troubled world. Yet in the midst of trouble Jesus promises us peace, for Jesus is the way to peace for our troubled hearts, and our troubled world. Because of His sacrifice for us, because of His blood, death, and resurrection, we have peace with God, and that peace brings peace to our hearts. Because He lives, we believe and have life eternal. So let us turn our eyes upon Jesus and praise God for His goodness. Let us lift up the One who makes our hearts glad and rejoice in Him who is our Lord and Savior, the Prince of Peace.

May the peace of Jesus Christ reign in your heart as you turn to Him.

This week’s scripture is from Romans:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”                (Romans 15:13)

In these trying times our hearts may be heavy, but let us be mindful where our hope comes from, for He is faithful to all who trust in Him. He is our source of hope and all that is good, for by His Holy Spirit we carry the joy of the Lord within us. Blessed are they who rejoice in the Lord and who fill their days with the hope that lies in Christ Jesus. Let our hearts be at peace as we remember from whom our hope comes, for He who rules over our hearts is coming again to rule and reign over all things with mercy and grace.

May your heart overflow with hope and joy and peace as you trust in Him who is faithful.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

For all the promises of God are yes in [Christ], and in him Amen…”   (2 Cor. 1:20 JUB)

When life and the weight of the world are pressing down upon us, and the cares and burdens of life are too many, it is good to remember the promises of God. He promises He has plans for us for good, for a future and a hope; He promises that when we are weary and burdened He will give us rest; He promises that those who trust in the Lord will find new strength; He promises He will supply all our needs from His glorious riches given to us in Christ. His Word promises that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love; He promises that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead we will be saved and have eternal life; He promises He will never leave us or forsake us. How good are the promises of God. Praise Him and speak them aloud over yourself.

May the Lord bless you to lean upon His promises and trust in Him.

This week’s scripture is from Luke:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.”  (Luke 10:27a)

Praise God; the Lord, the Lord is One. Let us be one with the Lord, for the Lord is not part but whole. The Lord gives us His all, for we are not saved in part but in whole. Let us therefore come to the Lord not in part but in whole. He gives us the whole of salvation, for Christ is the holy sacrifice for our redemption. Let us therefore surrender ourselves completely to the Lord, with all we have and with everything we are, with all our heart, all our soul, all our strength, all our mind, for the Lord held nothing back to redeem us unto Himself. Let us hold nothing back from the Lord, but let us trust Him completely and love Him fully.

May the Lord give you the strength to surrender to His love completely.
