Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 01/28/18

January 29, 2018

This week’s scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

“For the love of Christ compels us…”  (2 Cor. 5:14a)

Let us rejoice in the love of Christ; let us rejoice in the power of His love; let us rejoice in the grace and mercy of His love. For without His love where would we be, for all that we are or can ever hope to be are made manifest in His love.

May the love of Christ strengthen us to be faithful servants of Him who loves us.

This week’s scripture is from Proverbs:

… one who trusts in the Lord is secure  (Proverbs 29:25b).

In this world, in this life, there is One and one alone in whom we can place our trust and know we will be secure in Him. It is the Lord who never wavers, who never alters, who does not change, but who always keeps His word, who always keeps His promises, who is always there waiting for us to call on Him, to call upon His name, the name that is above all names. It is in Him that we can find safety and security in the everlasting arms of His son, Jesus Christ, who died for us that we might be forgiven and be secure in the knowledge of spending eternity with Him. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Blessed be His name.

May you trust in Him who loves you with an everlasting love.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Corinthians:

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”
(1 Cor. 15:57-58).

In these days, let us remember Christ who has the victory already in His hands, but let us also be mindful of the necessity to strengthen the people, for many are weak in the Lord, and when times get hard they may fall away. Wherever the Lord has placed you be it preacher, teacher, neighbor, friend, stand firm and speak the Word boldly; teach them how to be strong in the Lord. Show them the true power of love, which is stronger than evil, stronger than hate, stronger than death. Be steadfast in the Lord, and labor in the Truth. Take heart for the Lord is coming.

May the Lord bless you with boldness and opportunity to speak the Word into the lives of others.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men”   (John 1:1-4).

It is good to remember that everything begins with the Lord, for He is the living Word, who is with God and was sent by God. When God spoke the Word, everything that is came into existence, everything in the universe, everything in the world, including all life and all the living. Since the beginning, Our Lord Jesus Christ has been the light of life, the light of the world, and He remains our light in the darkness. He is the light of our salvation and our light unto eternity. Praise God for sending the light. Praise God for sending His son Jesus Christ that we might know Him and the glory of His grace. Praise His holy name.

May the light of the Lord shine upon you and light your way.

This week’s scripture is from Revelation:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty”   (Rev.1:8).

The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, our Lord and our God. In these days and months ahead, let us remember Him who is sovereign over all the earth, over all time, over all history, over all people, over everything that ever has been, is, and ever will be. May we be in awe of Him who is Lord of All, Most High God, the Almighty One, who loves us and sent His Son that we might know Him and the beauty of His mercy and grace, now and forevermore; blessed be His name. Praise God; Praise God.

May the Lord God Almighty ever reign as the Lord of your life through His son, Jesus Christ.
