Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 09/25/16

September 26, 2016

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus Christ 4“I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.”   (Psalm 52:8 ESV)

God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. In our most difficult times, He is there; whether we can feel Him with us or not, He is there; whether we can hear His voice or not, He is there, for He has said He will always be there, and his love never fades and never fails. The love of God for us knows no season; it does not ebb and flow like the tide; it does not come and go like the wind; it does not wear out or grow weary, for His love is everlasting. The Lord is faithful and His love is true; it knows no bounds and it has no limits, for God is love, and we are who He loves. Trust in His love for you and listen to His heart.

May you know the Lord’s love for you as never before.

This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

bible-john-closeup-2“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”  (Matt. 24:11)

In these days we have seen those who have left the Word of God to go chasing after the doctrines of men or the doctrines of demons, those who have taken it upon themselves to say and to teach that the Word of God does not say what the Word of God says, who have corrupted the Word to fit the times we live in, to redefine what God says is true and acceptable. Let us not be one of those swayed by the words of men, but let us stand true to His Word and the truth that is eternal. Let us stay centered on Christ our Lord, for He is the author and finisher of our faith; He is the Word made flesh, the Holy One of God.

May the Lord bless you to stay in the truth of His word.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Samuel:

Jesus Christ“To the faithful you show yourself faithful…”     (2 Samuel 22:26a)

It can be difficult in hard times when all seems to be going wrong to remain faithful to the Lord in prayer and in worship. When our life is in turmoil from some personal strife or illness or misfortune we can become overwhelmed with anxiety and despair, and forget to turn to the One who is always faithful. For some it is difficult in good times to remain faithful to the Lord for the pleasures of the blessings of the Lord can cause some to forget the giver of the gifts and not be grateful and faithful in prayer and in worship. Let us remember the Lord who is faithful to us, who loves us and always wants the best for us. Let us strive to always be faithful to Him from whom all blessings flow and who never will leave us or forsake us.

May the Lord bless you in your faithfulness.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Chronicles:

Jesus Christ 4“Submit to the Lord …”    (2 Chron. 30:8)

Let us come before the Lord and bow down; let us surrender ourselves to His great love, for if we would belong to Him, if we would become His children and His disciples, we must surrender our lives to Him, and we must surrender everything. Let us submit every area of our life to Him; let us hold nothing back, but give it all to Him who loves us and gave Himself for us. Let us therefore repent of all that keeps us from Him, that keeps us from prayer, that keeps us from His word, that keeps us from His presence: including every distraction, every sin, every way in which we go our own way instead of going His way. Let us submit ourselves completely to His mighty love. Let us die to ourselves that we might live to Christ and His love.

May the Lord bless you to surrender to Him.
