Happy Easter! This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

Jesus is RisenBut the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, [just] as He said.”   (Matthew 28:5-6)

He is risen, He is risen, He is risen! Thank God, thank God, thank God Almighty. Jesus Christ is alive forevermore. He sacrificed Himself that we might be reconciled to God our Father, that we might know Him and the mercy of His grace. He is the bread of life, the Holy One, the Son of God; He sealed the new covenant in His blood that we might have the forgiveness of our sins, that we might have salvation and eternal life. Thank you Lord Jesus. How blessed we are to know His love and the beauty of His grace.

May the beauty of the Lord’s sacrifice bless you each and every day.

Good Friday

Thank the Lord, Jesus Christ, He sacrificed Himself for us.

Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.   (Isaiah 53:4-5)

Jesus triumphal entry2This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

“So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the [palm] trees and spread them on the road. Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’

Hosanna in the highest!”    (Matthew 21:6-9)

Praise the Lord. Raise your voice! The Lord is come. Blessed be His name. Shout Hallelujah! He is come! He is come! He is come! The Prince of Peace, the Lord of Salvation, the Lord of Lords is come and we are blessed. Glory to God in the Highest! Sing, cry out! Praise His holy name. The Lord reigns! Here is the Lord, the Holy One, the Son of God. Rejoice you saints. Raise your voice; raise your hands; lift your hearts. Praise the Lord! The Lord is come! The Lord is come! The Lord is come! Blessed be His name! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen.

May the blessing of the coming of the Lord fill your heart with joy.

This week’s scripture is from 1 John:

jesus_white“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”   (1 John 1:9)

Even though we have come to the Lord through the blood of Jesus Christ, and we have repented of our sins and trespasses, God knows that we are not perfect, and that as children we continue to stumble and fall as we learn to walk out our salvation. Yet the Lord is faithful and true, and He loves us dearly, for even now the Son of God sits at the right hand of the Father ever making intercession for the saints.

Let us come before our Father boldly and confess our sins for He will forgive us and cleanse us if we humble ourselves before His mercy and grace. If we harbor anything against anyone, let us forgive them as the Lord forgave us, for He will forgive us as we forgive others, and let us also remember to forgive ourselves for it is wrong to not forgive in us what He has forgiven in us. Come, let us bow our hearts before Him.

May the blood of Christ cleanse you as you bow your heart before Him.

This week’s scripture is from Lamentations:

Jesus Christ risen“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him…”      (Lam. 3:25)

Those who belong to Him know that the Lord is good and all that He does is good, especially to those who belong to Him, those whose hope is in the Lord, in the beauty of His grace, in the majesty of His mercy, in the depth of His mighty love, in the splendor of His salvation, in the power of His blood, death, and resurrection. Let us seek earnestly the One who loves us with an everlasting love; let us open our eyes to His living word; let us open our hearts to trust in Him, and let us learn to fill our mouths with His praise and with our prayers, for those who seek Him will find Him and their hope will rest in the Lord.

May the Lord bless you with His goodness as you seek after Him.
