Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 12/27/15

December 28, 2015

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

Jesus Christ 4“… for God is with us.”   (Isaiah 8:10)

Another year comes winding down and a new year approaches. Let us put the old behind us and look with expectation for new days to come; let us put away our old self and become a new person in Christ, for in truth and righteousness Christ is come, and now and forever God is with us.

Let us not be weary or carry last year’s burdens into the new year, but let us lift our hearts and our hands to our Father in heaven and give Him praise. Let us clothe ourselves in praise and thanksgiving for all He has done for us and all He will do. Let us keep our eyes upon Him who loves us and gave Himself for us, for He cares for us.

May your heart rejoice in remembering God is with us.

This week’s scripture is from Luke:

Nativity St.Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay, WIThen the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:     “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:10-14)

Praise the Lord God Most High for the glorious gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, the greatest gift ever given, our salvation come to bring us peace and reconcile us to God our Father. How great the gift; how great the giver. What incredible love; what wonderful news; what exceeding joy. How can we but praise Him and worship His holy name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Praise God Almighty; praise His Holy Name. Glory to God!  Glory to God!  Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

May your prayers and praises rise up to the Lord, and may He shed joy and peace abroad in your heart.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

Jesus Christ Nativity“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulders. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Let us praise God as we gather together and celebrate the advent of Christ’s birth, for He came that we might know Him and the beauty of His grace, that through Him all creation might know salvation, that the peace of God might reign in us. Thank God that He sent His Son. Blessed be His name, and blessed are we to receive so great a gift, so wonderful a savior. May we forever praise His name and preach the good news, that some might believe and receive eternal life in Christ.

May the Lord bless you this Christmas season with all the blessings of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

Mary -- Annunciation“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold a virgin shall be with child and give birth to a son, and shall call His name Immanuel” (God with us).    (Isaiah 7:14)

The Son of God come down to us as a child; O how great are the promises of God. How blessed we are, for the ancients knew the promise, but did not see it come to pass, yet we live in the time of God’s favor; we have seen His grace and His salvation, for He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to us that we might know Him, and through Him the blessings of His mercy and grace, unto life and life eternal. Glory to God, glory in the highest, for He is with us and we are forever blessed. Praise God Almighty; blessed be His name.

May the blessings of Our Lord Jesus Christ be yours this very day.
