This week’s scripture is from John:

Jesus Christ“For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.”  (John 12:47b)

The Word of God tells us that Jesus did not come to condemn us but to save us, for it is the Law that brings condemnation for it shows us where we fall short of the righteousness of God. In this fallen world and in our fallen state we cannot but fall short, and we certainly cannot save ourselves for our righteousness is not righteous before the Almighty Holy God. Though all are guilty and deserving of judgment, Jesus did not come to judge; He came to save us from condemnation, to save us from all unrighteousness and sin. He sacrificed Himself that we might obtain His righteousness and be forgiven. Praise God for sending His son Jesus that we might know salvation and the mercy of His grace and love.

May the Lord bless you to know the depth of His love for you.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

Jesus Christ 4“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering … and by his wounds we are healed.”  (Isaiah 53:4,5)

We know the Lord heals, for when we get sick or injured, we generally get well, and at times the Lord does miraculous healings when illness or injuries that should be fatal or terminal are dramatically turned back and the person afflicted lives or is restored to health. Yet it is not just our physical bodies that the Lord heals, for the Lord is concerned with more than our physical well-being. The Lord also heals our soul. He heals the brokenhearted; He heals us emotionally and mentally from wounds and trauma that life has inflicted upon us. He heals our suffering. If we will bring our brokenness before Him, the Lord is faithful to heal us in the way we most need to be healed, for all are broken and all need His healing touch.

May the Lord bless you with healing, body and soul.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus Christ risenBlessed is the one who trusts in the Lord… (Psalm 40:4a)

The world is full of trust. Some trust in their wealth to save and sustain them; some trust in their good health and strength to carry them through; some trust in might and force to save and protect them, and some trust in government to watch over them and take care of them. Others trust in their good works to save them or their knowledge and intellect.

Yet there is only one in whom we should trust, for He has a wealth of love for us and His strength is greater than any other. He governs with mercy and grace; He sent His son to save us and not by works, and His wisdom is beyond all we can know or imagine, for He is the Lord God Almighty, King of Heaven and Earth and all the Universe. In Him only should we trust.

May the Lord bless you greatly as you trust in Him.

This week’s scripture is from Matthew:

Praising God“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…”  (Matt. 6:33)

How easy it is to become preoccupied by the demands of the day. There are so many things we need to do and so many things that need our attention. From the time we rise until we go to bed at night, our lives are so busy and so full of work and family and friends and life. We go, go, go.

Too often we neglect our time with the Lord who is the one that should be our priority every day. We get so busy in the morning, and by night time we are too tired to remember to pray. Yet our Heavenly Father who loves us should be the first one in the morning and the last one at night to receive our prayers and thanks. Let us be mindful to seek the Lord each morning and evening, to pray and worship and praise Him who watches over us.

May the Lord bless you to seek Him and His righteousness.

This week’s scripture is from John:

Your word is truth. (John 17:17b)Bible - John

Some say this, some say that; one has this opinion, one has that opinion; this expert disagrees with that expert. So which one is right? What is the truth? Who knows the truth? We know there is truth and there is falsehood. How can we tell the truth from that which is false? In the word of God is found the truth; His word is truth, for in Him there is no lie, no falsehood, only truth. Therefore, let us stay in the word, read the word, study the word, and know the word that we might know the truth, for to know the truth is to know the One whose word is truth. Love the Lord and love His word, for the truth of His love is in His word.

May the Lord bless you to live in His word and know the truth.
