This week’s scripture is from Romans:

Praying Hands2“Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”   (Romans 4:3)

We receive God’s grace through faith, and we believe through faith. We have faith and we trust in our Lord, but where are we when our faith fails, when we fail to live in righteousness, when our faith falters and we fail our Lord. Is our faith lost? Are we forsaken? Certainly not, for we learn from Abraham’s life  that faith is a journey, that failing to keep in faith has consequences, but that we might return to the Lord in righteousness if we return to faith again. For Abraham failed too, but his faith endured, and our faith must also endure. When we fail we need to take up our faith again, for life’s challenges and setbacks are but opportunities to strengthen our faith, and God’s grace is sufficient to overcome, and to renew our faith.

May the Lord bless you to endure in faith every day.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

jesus_white“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.       (Psalm 136:1,26)

Let us give thanks to the God of heaven, for He is good and all He does is good. His love is everlasting. It knows neither times or seasons; there is never a time when the Lord is without love. He does not forsake us or stop loving us even when we are disobedient. When we belong to the Lord, we can always depend on His love, for God is love. His love never gives up; His love never fails; His love sets us free, for He sent His beloved son to show us His great love for us, and He sacrificed Himself for us that we might be able to love God and be reconciled to Him. How great is the love of God for us. Let us give thanks for His love.

May the Lord of Heaven bless you with His love this very day.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Chronicles:

Jesus Christ“… for the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”   (2 Chron. 30:9b)

Often it seems our lives run before us as we try to keep up. How busy we become with everything that crowds our days. How easy it is to drift away from the Lord and become lost in the chaos that consumes us with work and obligations. How subtle is the drawing away that we may not even notice it until we are far from our Father and we are not hearing His voice; we might not even be listening.

We get caught up in the things of the world, in the attitudes of the world, yet they are not the Lord’s thoughts; they are not the Lord’s attitudes. Stop and listen for His voice; hear Him calling you back to Him, and back to His son.  Return to Him and renew your life in Him, for you belong to the Lord and He cares for you.

May the Lord bless you this very day with His grace and compassion.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Kings:

Warfare Prayer[“O Lord my God,] Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”   (1 Kings 8:28b)

Let the call for pray go out. Sin and wickedness rise like a tide. Our nation needs prayer; our land needs prayer. Let us humble ourselves before the Lord and bow down and seek His face. Let repentance begin with us; let us freely confess our sins and ask God’s forgiveness under the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let the people repent and turn from all unrighteousness. Let the churches gather and seek the Lord’s grace and forgiveness. Let us call upon our leaders to repent and bow before the Lord that our land might be healed. So come into His presence, you faithful, bow down before the Lord and pour out your prayers.

May the Lord bless you as you bow down and pray in His presence.
