Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 04/19/15

This week’s scripture is from Luke:

Jesus risenAnd a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.”   (Luke 8:23-24)

When the storms of life come upon us, when we are battered and in danger of drowning, let us remember Him who rides above the storm, the one who is Master even over the forces of the nature and of life itself. He does not always remove the storms of life for life has storms, some of our own making, but He will always make a way to carry us through the storm if we will but call out to Him and put our trust in Him, for no storm is greater than the One who was there when the foundation of life was laid, and no storm exists that He cannot quiet with but a word, for He is the Lord, our Savior, whose love brings peace and calm into our lives. So don’t look at the storm; look to the Lord. Fix your eyes upon Him and He will save you.

May the Lord bless you in the midst of the storm and bring you through.
