Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 11/23/14

November 24, 2014

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Praying HandsLet [us] give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.   (Psalm 107:8)

Let us come before the Lord with thankful hearts and praise Him who loves us with an everlasting love, for He provides for our every need and fills us with all that is good. Thanks be to God for He never leaves us or forsakes us.

Let us count our blessings and praise Him for His holiness. Thanks be to God for His great gift in giving us His son Jesus Christ that we might know Him and the mercy of His grace. Praise be to God for He is good and all He does is good; let us give thanks to Him. Thanks be to God for all He has done. Amen.

May you be blessed by the Lord as you praise Him in thanksgiving.

This week’s scripture is from Hebrews:

Jesus Christ“Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.”   (Hebrews 2:11)

To belong to God is to belong to His family, for we are not alone, but we are all one in Christ Jesus. To come to salvation in Christ and to live in relationship with Him is to belong to the family of God: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and to be in fellowship with all of those who belong to Him, for those whom He calls brothers and sisters are also our brothers and sisters, for in Christ we are all one family of believers, all travelers on the path of righteousness, all sojourners toward eternity with Him. Rejoice and be glad, for our family in Christ are our true brothers and sisters, all children of the One True God.

May you be blessed and be a blessing in the Lord’s family.

This week’s scripture comes from John:

Jesus Christ risen“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”   (John 10:10b)

Our Lord is the Lord of life. He is the author and creator of life. He is the source of all life. He sustains and maintains all life everywhere. He rules over all the living. He is the Living God, the Almighty One, the True and Everlasting Lord. He gives life, the breathe of life, and brings life to the soul.

His Son gave up His life that we may have eternal life, for in Him we have new life, and an everlasting life. May the river of the water of life, from beneath the throne of God, cleanse you, heal you, and refresh you. May the sovereign Lord bless you with life and life abundant, and may your life be a reflection of the life He gave you.

May the Lord bless and fill your life to the full.

This week’s scripture is from Hebrews:

Jesus risen“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'”    (Hebrews 13:5)

The way of the Lord is the way of love. The troubles of man are many and most can be traced to his desire to want what he wishes he had. How much strife and sorrow has been brought into the world by the wanting of what others have. Yet what does anyone gain by coveting from others? What good does it do to gain the world but lose your soul?

The only thing worth coveting is the love of God. Remember the One who is faithful to supply our every need and provide for every circumstance. Let us be rich in the love of God; be at peace with what He has given; be thankful for His provision, and be blessed by His promise.

May the Lord richly bless you to be content in His love and grace.
