This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

jesus_white“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”   (Psalms 33:11)

The generations come and the generations go; they plan and they strive to make their mark, but the plans of man are passing and his time is always short. Things go this way and that, back and then forth, up and then down, but God’s plans never waver; His timing is always perfect; everything happens at precisely the right time, in the right place, and in the right manner. His plans and His purposes are always fulfilled, and they never fail. Let us remember to always ask the Lord what His plans are for us before we make our own plans, for His plans will always be the best for us, because God’s plans come from God’s heart.

May the Lord bless you with a heart toward His heart.

This week’s scripture is from Hebrews:

Warfare Prayer“We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”   (Hebrews 2:1)

It is so easy to let the cares of this world draw us away from where our attention should be. The concerns, the busyness, the fullness of life get between us and God. Soon we are neglecting our daily devotions, our Bible reading slips, our worship drops off, our pray life becomes sporadic; we are not spending time with our Lord. We have drifted away.

Yet He has not drifted away from us; He never leaves us nor will He ever forsake us. He is still right where He was, waiting for us. Let us remember who we belong to and who He is: the Son of the Most High God, the Righteous One, the Anointed One, the Holy One. Let us not neglect the One who loves us and gave His life for us. Let us hold tight to Him and draw near, once again.

May the Lord bless you with His presence as you keep close to Him.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Corinthians:

Bible - John“Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel… [for] by this gospel you are saved…”  (1 Cor. 15:1a,2a)

Let us remember the gospel, the good news of the kingdom of God, that Jesus Christ brought to us, for we were sinners separated from God and lost to Him, for God is holy; we are not; God is righteous; we are not. We were objects of wrath, without salvation. Yet His love for us is so great that He sent His son, His one and only Son, to suffer and die in our place, to atone for our sin, that by His blood, death, and resurrection, we might be reconciled to God, our Father in heaven, that if we believe, if we repent and draw near to Him, He is faithful to forgive us and to accept us, for Jesus’ sacrifice cleanses us of all sin and unrighteousness. This is the good news: we were sinners, apart from God, but now we are saved.

May the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ be on your heart and on your lips.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

SONY DSC“Blessed are those … whose hope is in the Lord their God.” (Psalm 146:5)

We who believe live under the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ; we cannot be separated from His love. Regardless of the trials of life we face, regardless of the troubles before us, we are not to despair like the world despairs, for we do not hope like the world hopes. We are not to worry about tomorrow for He holds tomorrow in His hand. We do not trust in riches; we do not trust in power or works. We trust in the name of Him to whom we belong, Jesus Christ. Our hope is not a vain wishfulness; our hope is the assurance of life in Christ and Christ alone, now and forever, for He who promised it is faithful, and His word is true.

May the blessed hope of Jesus Christ rest upon you this very day and give you peace.
