This week’s scripture is from Ephesians:

Warfare Prayer“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”  (Eph. 6:18a)

The only one who really knows us, like no other, is the Lord, for He knew us before we were even born. He knows us better than we know ourselves, for He formed us and He made us in the secret place that only He knows. He knows everything about us; He knows the deepest longings of our heart; He knows the cries no one can hear. He can hear the anguish of a soul in despair; He knows the sound of a broken heart and a contrite spirit. When our soul cries out from depths too great for human ears to understand, He is there, listening, waiting. Go to the Lord; cry out and pray in the spirit; unburden your soul and empty your heart, for He cares for you. He loves you and will comfort you; He will rescue and restore you.

May the Lord bless you to pray in the spirit on all occasions.

This week’s scripture is from 1 Samuel:

“Let us inquire of God …” (1 Samuel 14:36b)Old Man Praying

Our lives are never free of decisions for very long. Things happen, and decisions need to be made. We wonder: Should I do this or that? Should I go this way or that way? Or sometimes a crisis may arise, and we don’t know where to turn or what we should do; things may seem to be spinning out of our control. We are at a lost, but God is never at a lost. He is always in control and He knows the end from the beginning. He always knows what is best for us and what is the right thing to do, but we must ask Him. We should inquire of God in every decision in our life. We should stop and ask Him which way to go and what to do.

May the Lord bless you to remember to pray and inquire of Him for all things in your life.

This week’s scripture is from John:

Lords prayer -- Tissot“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”   (John 16:33)

The Lord did not promise us a trouble-free life. He knew that this fallen world can be a dark and troublesome place, where we find ourselves struggling against the darkness and pain of suffering, sin, injury, and want. Try as we might we have not the power to overcome it, but the Lord does, for He took the weight of sin and death upon Himself, and by His sacrifice, by His blood and resurrection, He did overcome the world. He has defeated the darkness; He has triumphed; He is victorious, and in Him we can have peace. Let us rejoice and be glad, for we can have peace through our Lord Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless you today with peace, abiding peace.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Hear my prayer, O Lord…”   (Psalm 143:1a)

Praying Hands2Let us go to a quiet place and draw near to the Lord our God; let us bow our head and our heart before Him and pray and seek His face. Let us worship His holiness and give Him thanks for all the ways He provides for us, for He is faithful and full of mercy, and in Him lies hope and forgiveness. Let us learn the language of supplication, and in every circumstance and in every endeavor, let us, like Christ, go first to our Father in prayer. If we face troubles, let us pray; if we are sick, let us pray. If we don’t know what to do, let us pray. If we wish to do the Lord’s will, let us pray. Pray to the Lord, for He is faithful to hear you.

May the Lord bless you each day to spend time in prayer with Him.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

SONY DSC“Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture …”
      (Psalm 95:6-7a)

There is only one who is worthy of our worship, only one who is worthy of our adoration and reverence, only one before whom we should bow down and worship. He is the Lord Almighty, the God of heaven and earth and all the universe, the Holy One, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. He is the one who made us, the one who sustains us, the one who loves us, the one who sent His son to die for our sins that we might be forgiven, reconciled, and redeemed, that we might be His children and heirs. Come, let us worship Him with word and song, let us dance before His throne, let us pray and fast, let us bend our knees and bow our faces before the Lord and our God. Let us worship in His presence in spirit and in truth.

May the Lord bless you to worship Him with a joyful heart.
