Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 08/25/13

This week’s scripture is from Colossians:

SONY DSC“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Col. 1:13-14)

Our Lord has redeemed us from all of our sins, all of the sins we committed before we first believed and sins since, and all sin that we will ever commit. Jesus took upon Himself all sin that ever was and ever would be, and by His sacrifice, by His blood, He brought us into redemption and delivered us from the power of the enemy of our souls.

We now live in the light of the Son of God, the Holy One, and if we are faithful to confess our sins and repent, then He is faithful to forgive us, for He shed His blood and died once and for all for everyone who will believe and come into the Light. All who will come are redeemed by His blood by His mercy and His grace. So let us humble ourselves before the Lord and confess our trespasses that we might continue in His love and in the power of redemption and forgiveness.

May you know the blessing of the Lord and the redeeming power of His blood.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Jesus is Risen“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…”  (Psalm 23:6)

The Lord is compassionate, full of grace and mercy. God is good and all He does is good. As children of the Most High God, we belong to Him. If the Lord is your God, He will be gracious unto you; He will fulfill your needs and take care of you; He will give you rest and restore your soul and refresh you; He will protect you and watch over you; He will be with you and comfort you; He will anoint you and make you one of His own. Bow before your heavenly father, and be at peace. Cease from striving and struggling. Cease from weariness and worry. Give yourself completely into the hands of the Lord, and He will bless you.

May the Lord richly bless you with His goodness and mercy this very day.

This week’s scripture is from Proverbs:

Jesus Christ 4“A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.”
(Proverbs 16:9)

We do make plans; we make plans for our life. We will go to this school; we will study these things; we will get this degree. We will do this kind of work or have this kind of life; we will share it with this person; we will own these things; we will live here, or over there; we will have children; we will be successful. We will have few troubles; we will be happy; we will live a long time. We will… we will… we will…. In our hearts we make plans, but our lives are in the Lord’s hands, especially if we belong to Him. Is the Lord in your plans? Did you surrender your plans to the Lord? Are your plans for your life, His plans for your life?

May you always remember to submit your life to Lord so He might direct your steps.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

Man holding arms up in praise against a sunburst“Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.”
(Psalm 33:8)

How awesome is our God; how magnificent is His name! Let your heart revere Him; give Him honor and praise. Let the fear of the Lord bring you wonder and wisdom, for there is none like Him. His name is Lord of Lords and King of Kings; He is all mighty, all powerful, all loving. His breath is the breath of life. At His word the planets and the stars filled the firmament of the universe; at His coming the earth trembles and the mountains shake. His majesty rides above the heavens; His mercy flows upon the waters. His grace is amazing; His love is holy, stronger than death; Eternity is in His hands. How awesome is our God!

May you stand in awe of the Lord and praise His holy name.
