March 29, 2013

“Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised…” (Matt. 27: 50-52).

Jesus on the cross 2Thank God that Jesus gave His life that we might have eternal life through His sacrifice for our sins.

This week’s scripture is from Mark:  Jesus triumphal entry2

“Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”                  (Mark 11:7-10)

Praise the Lord; raise your voice! The Lord is come; blessed be His name. Shout Hallelujah! He is come! He is come! He is come! The Prince of Peace, the Lord of Salvation, the Lord of Lords, is come and we are blessed. Glory to God in the Highest! Sing, cry out! The Lord reigns! Here is the Lord, the Holy One, the Son of God. Rejoice you saints. Raise your voice; raise your hands; lift your hearts. Praise the Lord! The Lord is come! The Lord is come! Blessed be His name!

May the blessing of the coming of the Lord bless your heart with joy.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

Jesus Christ -- Heinrich Hofmann“God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”   (Isaiah 12:2)

The Lord said that in this life there would be troubles, there would be tribulation. Such is life, even for those who love Him and are called according to His name. Our Lord was called a man of sorrows, for He came into a fallen world, and He wept over it and those who live in it. Yet the Lord laid down His life only to take it up again, to rise up triumphant with victory in His hand. He said to come to Him for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He is our strength and our shield, our Savior in whom we trust. Fear not.  This life cannot defeat us if He is our Lord and our salvation, for our life is now in Him in whom we trust.

May the Lord bless you to trust in Him in every situation, in every circumstance.

This week’s scripture is from 2 Timothy:

SONY DSC“But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me … and the Lord will deliver me ….”  (2 Tim. 4:17a,18a)

Each day has troubles of its own and we often seem pressed on every side. The cares of this life can oppress us with health and physical difficulties, with financial worries, with relationship and emotional problems with others and within ourselves, even with demonic attacks against any part of our lives: physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Though we may not have the strength to withstand these assaults, there is One who does and gives us His strength to withstand any and every attack against us, and who can and does deliver us. The Lord is there to stand with us, to be with us, to strengthen us, to deliver us. Turn to Lord and receive His strength; let the Lord be your deliverance and blessing.

May the Lord strengthen you and deliver you this day from every trial and trouble.

This week’s scripture is from Isaiah:

“I will wait on the Lord … And I will hope in Him.”   (Isaiah 8:17)Man holding arms up in praise against a sunburst

In all things the Lord is our hope. In this world, nation rises against nation; the enemies of His people take counsel together; and men seek solutions without God. In our own lives troubles rise against us; it seems we are never far from turmoil, hardship, or pain; none of us escapes unscathed from the things that come against us whether illness or injury, adversity or persecution. Yet there is one in whom we can trust to stand by us, to be there for us, for when all is against us, He is for us. We know our hope is not in this world or in this life, our hope is in Christ, and Christ alone, and not far off, but here and now. If we wait upon Him, we will find He is already here, for He is faithful and true, and He loves us and saves us.

May you always find your hope in the Lord as you wait patiently upon Him.
