Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 10/16/11

This week’s scripture is from Hebrews:

“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”     (Hebrews 6:10)

We know we are not saved by works and our salvation does not depend on works, but that does not mean that the Lord forgets about the works done in His name by those who minister in His name. Indeed, He planned good works for you to do before you were born or born again, and He knows the love you have shown in His name and the love you have shared in His name. The Lord delights in the good works done in His name to spread His kingdom, for the scripture says that some plow, some plant, and some harvest, and the angels of heaven rejoice at every sinner brought to grace. His workers will not go unrewarded, nor will He ever forsake those who belong to Him and serve in faithfulness and love.

May the Lord bless you with the assurance that He has seen your faithful labors.
