Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 11/28/10

November 29, 2010

This week’s scripture is from John:

“The light shines in the darkness …

 “The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” (John 1:5a, 9)

Thank God that He is true and always keeps His promises, for He sent His Son into this dark world to be our light and our salvation. Long it was foretold that He would come. Now He is the light of the world and a lamp unto our feet. He has brought us into the light, and how blessed we are that His light can shine through us, for truth lives in the light and He lives in us. Hallelujah!  Thank you, Lord!

May the light of God’s blessings be yours this day and every day.

             May the Lord bless you and yours this Thanksgiving Day.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving
   and his courts with praise;
   give thanks to him and praise his name.
“For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
   his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
 (Psalm 100:4-5)

Let us enter in to His presence and give thanks to the Lord. How blessed we are that the Lord provides for our every need, and nothing good does He withhold from us, but He gives to each according to their need. His love and faithfulness flow over us, and we are blessed by His grace. Praise His holy name. Sing praise, for the Lord is good and all He does is good. Let thanksgiving flow from our lips as we praise His holy name. Thanks be to God for all His blessings.  Thanks be to God for all He has done.

May the Lord continue to bless you each day as you give thanks and sing His praise.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”     (John 16:33)

Though we can sometimes wonder why God allows our lives to be marked by trouble, there is a strange comfort in Jesus’ words assuring us that we will have trouble in this world, for it reminds us that trouble comes from this fallen world and not our Lord, for in Him, and Him alone, we can find peace from the trials and tribulations of this life. Jesus has overcome the world!  If we are in Him and He is in us, then we too can overcome the world through Him. In Him we have life and victory, and peace. What a great blessing!

May the words of our Lord and Savior bless and comfort you.

This week’s scripture is from John:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.”     (John 14:1)  NLT

How wonderful it is to be able to trust in Jesus, to believe His every word. With the challenges that seem to daily come against us and those the Holy Spirit sends us to minister to, it is so good to be able to trust in God to provide for our every need, physical and spiritual. It can be so easy to become troubled by what we see and what we must face; the difficulties can seem insurmountable, but praise God for He is there at every turn, and Jesus ever sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the saints. O what a Savior is our Lord. Praise to the Son of God. How blessed we are!

May the blessings of the Lord Jesus Christ wash away your troubles this day and each day.

This week’s scripture is from Psalms:

“Praise the LORD!
         Praise the name of the LORD;
         Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD!
 You who stand in the house of the LORD,
         In the courts of the house of our God,
 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
         Sing praises to His name…”
(Psalm 135:1-3)

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Lift His name on high. For who else is like our Lord, wonderful things He has done. What a privilege it is to serve the Lord. What an honor to stand in His house and declare His Word, for He is our Rock and our Salvation. Sing praises to His name; exalt His name above the heavens. Praise the One who sits on high and blesses us with goodness and mercy. Forever praise Him.

May the blessings of the Lord fill your lips with praise, and may your praise exalt His name.
