Strengthen and Encourage the Brethren 01/17/10

This week’s scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,  casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”   (2 Cor. 10:4-5).

The Word reminds us that we are involved in warfare between good and evil, but the Lord does not leave us unarmed. Let us be mindful and encouraged that the weapons God has given us – worship, praise, and prayer – are powerful in the Lord, for what can stand against the Word and the might of the Lord.

No stronghold of the enemy, no clever argument or anything that exalts itself against the Lord can long stand, but we must also bring our own thoughts as prisoners so that they obey Christ Jesus, for in Christ we find victory. Armor yourself and fight – speak the Word, sing His praises, pray and keep praying. Amen.

May the Lord strengthen you and bless you each day for the challenges placed before you.
